Hello Muddah...

I know I'm not alone when I say that my mom takes advantage of the world wide web and it's ability to track down the spawn of nervous mothers everywhere with the invention of email. It started in college with the arbitrary "Wow, I can't believe I'm writing to you on a computer and in seconds you will be receiving this message with a cute little envelope icon that makes it look like I actually "mailed" it to you?!" to "Are you not reading these or am I not sending them to the right person?" which eventually led to a phone message that goes a little something like "Hi honey, it's Mom. Just calling to see if you did in fact get the last 10 emails I sent you or not. I know we spoke on the phone last night so there's no emergency or anything, but since you haven't responded I started to worry that maybe I sent to a different PaRtY6969@aol.com than you? Please let me know so I don't start going crazy and begin closing my credit card accounts and changing our phone number. Your know your Dad hates when I get paranoid but they're saying that Identity Theft will be the next biggest crime to ever hit America! Ok, so, anyways, love you and call me or EMAIL me back when you can! Love Mom." Yeah, you know what I'm talking about.

So, a genius website called - Postcards From Yo Momma (which is weird because that's actually my mom's email address) http://postcardsfromyomomma.com/- actually posts real emails from people's mothers that sound similar to the "fictional" (don't want to hurt Maryl's feelings) one above.

There are classics like:

SCARY

Hey-I just had the scariest thing happen in the hotel here around 5 pmish…I was in here on the computer and watching tv and heard a knock on the door and thankfully, DID NOT OPEN THE DOOR. I said, who’s there? I could barely see out the peep hole…the guy said “housekeeping” in a middle eastern voice…well, housekeeping had been here earlier and I even checked the fridge thinking well, maybe they forgot the water in the fridge but….water was there…I tried to look out the peep hole again and could see a guy out there and he said housekeeping again…well, I didn’t open the door…I called the operator who put me through to security. They sent a guard up and when I told him the guy had a middle eastern voice, he said, huh, we don’t have anyone on staff that fits that description.

OH my gosh, I’m so grateful that I was smart, and didn’t open the door….please, remember….NEVER OPEN THE DOOR…EVEN IN YOUR APARTMENT..I know the dorm is a little different, but you really should leave your door locked.

I am so grateful that I had the presence of mind not to open that door. I’m scared for someone else if they opened their door. OK, love you a bunch. Love, Mama

AND... my fave (so far)

And plenty more where that came from! Mom, if you read this... I love you and I never want you to stop emailing me. Just know that I won't always write back especially since we talk daily on the phone too.

Love Cammy!
